UNDERGROUND TOURS OF SAVANNAH was born out of the redaction of an essential part of American history - slavery & freedom.
As a local Gullah Geechee woman/Uhman, I knew there were sacred places and spaces where my Ancestors dwelled in downtown Savannah, unmarked, where churches, private homes, businesses and parks are currently abiding without markers acknowledging their existence in downtown Savannah. It was time to put all the historical pieces together.

‘It was 2017, two years before the commemoration of 400 after the atrocities of the Trans Atlantic Slave Trade. I decided I wanted to become a ‘tourist for the day’ and ventured out to take a ‘look-see’ into my City’s history.
I took several tours on trolleys, museums and walking tours and found only a few tours that was ‘truth-telling’ about Savannah, Georgia serving as the third Port of Entry for slavery beginning in 1748 and ending in 1864 after a bloody Civil War.’

We are local Gullah Geechee Truth-Tellers, Reenactors, and freedom singers that mesmerize audiences through our history. We showcase the inner emotions and consciousness of the Enslaved men, women and children that dwelled on the coast of Georgia.
