The Most Informative Tour in Savannah

“We took several house tours, a trolley tour, museum tours. But this was the most educational tour of our visit to Savannah. Sistah Patt, a direct descendant Gullah Geechee, has spent many years researching the history of African slavery trade along the Gulf Coast of Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina while tracing her ancestry and DNA thru that history. I can tell that this 2 hour tour actually changes every week/month/year that she is tirelessly working to “tell the truth” of Savannah history. She has even worked with the city government to revise incorrect depictions on historic signage. Absolutely fascinating orator and storyteller.
The tour only covers a couple of blocks from the river to the docks, and the terrain is rocky – just wait until she tells you the story of those rocks. The Ghana Akindra symbols used in architecture. I would take this tour again when I visit Savannah.”
